Like a roller coaster, life starts off nice and easy. It allows us to take in the view and slowly works its way to a turning point before shooting off at lightening speed. It dares us to keep our eyes open to try and catch every moment. My little coaster car took off as soon as I became a mom, and while it has kept on a steady track, I realize I have little control over its course. So I ride, and with each brief climb I carefully examine my life, only to realize I am in a completely different stage of it and that my babies, inches taller, are constantly closer to their own speedy downhill.
At the moment, I am climbing. Heavy burdens have been lifted, bad weeds sorted out, and my babies are now little girls who can do without mama for short spells. With this new found freedom I am, at last, taking some time of my own to grow. After years of teaching art to children, I am ready to take a ride in a new direction. Recently, I was quite inspired by the eclectic ambiance and far removed natural surroundings of Lanas de Puriscal and I have decided to lead my first art workshop there. I have been touched by many good friends showing interest and support. Even though my gut is clenched at the speed and thrills ahead, I know I am on the right track.
