The perks of living in the country come in odd forms. A few evenings ago, as we were heading back on a local bus after visiting with some friends, Anais cried out, "Pee Pee!" I comforted her with the fact that town, and a potty were about ten minutes away, so she agreed to hold it.
"PEE PEE, " came again from my little tot, and this time she was litteraly holding it. I started thinking that we may as well just get off the bus and find another way up the hill. Suddenly it dawned on me that we were riding on a bus in Puriscal, Costa Rica, and Anais is totally at home doing her business in the grass. So, I pulled out a handy wipe and we marched up to the driver. "Excuse me sir, could we please stop for a minute, it's just that my daughter has to go potty." There was no hesitation, not even rolling eyes or a heavy sigh, he gladly stopped. We got off the bus, did what we needed to do and were back on in just a couple of minutes. As we walked down the aisle to our seats, we were met by dozens of smiling faces. Everyone was happy to wait for a little girl to answer nature's call. We were on our way.

I love that about this country. Imagine the hell you would have gotten it in the States...wait a minute, you wouldn't even had been able to stop!
