My Kitchen Inspiration

I happily call myself a from-scratch-kitchen-witch. I am not afraid to try anything. I can make it boil and bubble and rise just right, even with a little trial and error. But let me make one thing clear, this witch needs a spell to follow. I am great at improvising, but without the start of a recipe, it is not at all magical.

My sister, on the other hand, is a sorceress in the kitchen. When we lived close to each other, her house was my favorite place to go "out to eat" and after she moved to the West Coast and I moved to Central America, a good number of our conversations included me asking for her recipe for this, that or some other thing. Tapping into her collection of all things fabulous is magical indeed.

Now, I am happy to say, I can share. My multi-talented sister, Danica Waters, has a fantastic blog: Allspice Chronicles. It is full of enchanting narratives tied to ultra magical recipes that are sure to satisfy all cravings. She also shares ever so helpful entertaining ideas, etiquette reminders and great eco-friendly cleaning tips.

What I love most about Allspice Chronicles is that ties sheer elegance with total practicality. Danica brings glamour to all occasions and reminds me that every moment is worthy of celebration. Trust me; this is not another cooking blog. It is much, much more. Check it out!

Is that cake a result of your magic or hers? It looks delicious! I will head over to check out Allspice. My kitchen skills put me more on the bumbling apprentice level. I could use the help.

Hey Holly, this was Salome's birthday cake. Allspice Chronicles has a chocolate sheet cake like this one and it is YUMMY. I am not as ambitious in the kitchen as my sister, but she always finds recipes that are over the top and really not very complicated. Have fun cooking!
