A Moment By the Lake

Last night, my family sat around the lake with hundreds of people from our community for the local fireworks display. It was small and spectacular. I couldn't help but feeling emotional; I'm still choked-up-grateful to be living here again. There was a bliss to the evening that magically wiped away all of the worries of the world. There we were, a whole bunch of otherwise preoccupied people, peacefully hanging out, oohing and awing at the glittery colors in the sky. Independence day, it's a party!
