On or about March 11, 2002, our first instance with the ministerial people regarding their ministerial rituals, we told them that we attend to our health matters in Denmark, not that we engaged in any form of vaccnation program. As well, no neighbor could have attested that we lived in Costa Rica for more than three years in March 2002, as we had lived in Puriscal only since September 2000 (19 months) and in Costa Rica for 21 months. Patricia Mesen Arroyo does not specify which neighbor, but obviously that information is subject to subpoena or the neighbor subject to summons. However, no such opportunity was available as the judge refused to hear our testimony and much of my work has NOT BEEN INCLUDED in the expediente (case file.) We shall examine that soon.

It is impossible to articulate in words the loss we feel for James and Birgitte and their wonderful family. We knew Nikoline to be a beautiful person and a daughter who in every way, all would want to call their own.
I am sure that Nikoline's warmth, her smile, her compassion,her amazing talents, her wonderful ways touched every one she came in contact with. I know for us that every time we were with the Hill family, Nikoline always left us with a good feeling and the hope that if all our children could be as Nikoline, all our lives would be so much enriched. I feel such sadness and anger.
The question that will not leave my mind is WHAT IS THE REAL SITUATION HERE? What is it that allows a Costa Rica that has long emphasized the development of democracy and respect for human rights to become so corrupt that it ignores all those moral and lawful values that it professes to stand for? When that question is finally answered and I pray it will be, it is only then that we will know why the Health Authorities tried to take their children from them, why they confiscated their home, their property and possessions and forced them to flee with their children that led to the death of Nikoline. Why? Not because they had harmed anyone or thing, but simply because they did not want their children to be vaccinated by the local health authorities and were prepared and tried to lawfully represent their beliefs. Again the question is why this total disregard for the respect of human rights and why were James and Birgitte and their family treated this way and how many other Costa Rican families are treated this way and who will speak for them? I think it is time for the world to see THE REAL SITUATION as it pertains to the health officials in Puriscal.-Jack Wallace
